Senior Investigative Reporter and Business News Editor Matt Rybaltowski is a senior investigative reporter and business news editor. He is primarily responsible for long-form feature coverage on complex sports betting scandals.
Matt also provides coverage on finance, M&A, official sports league data, prediction markets, artificial intelligence, and other technological developments in the expanding sports betting market. Matt has broken major stories on the Jontay Porter scandal, Fanatics’ acquisition of PointsBet U.S., Isaiah Rodgers’ violation of the NFL’s gambling policy, and Sportradar’s investments in Russia during the Ukraine conflict.
Outside of sports, Matt has covered private equity, fixed income, oil, foreign exchange, insurance and the asset management space for a variety of outlets. Over his three decades in journalism, Matt has also written for The New York Times, Forbes, Reuters, and The Guardian, among others.
